Alkenbrack Family Creates a Fund to Support Causes Focusing on Poverty Alleviation with the Community Foundation for L&A
The Community Foundation for Lennox & Addington has received a generous donation from Shelley and Doug Alkenbrack to create the Alkenbrack Family Fund. This new fund will support causes working to alleviate poverty in L&A County.
“Our family has always felt that it is important to give back to our community,” said Doug. “I have been volunteering with Morningstar Mission for a number of years have seen firsthand that many families need a hand up with local community support.”
“With this donation, we hope to make a difference by contributing funds close to home and inspiring others to join us in supporting local causes through the Community Foundation,” said Shelley
“The Community Foundation has identified the environment, poverty reduction, and healthcare as high priority issues requiring support to meet local needs,” said Bob Baker, Executive Director of the Community Foundation. “We are grateful to Shelley and Doug for their generosity and leadership in creating our forty-third fund at the Foundation.”
The Alkenbrack family has a long history in the community. Doug was raised and educated in Napanee. He attended Prince Charles elementary school and NDSS.
