Student Awards Application Deadline: April 23, 2025

The Community Foundation for Lennox & Addington is accepting applications for Student Awards from L&A high school students attending post-secondary education this fall. The deadline for students to apply is Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 4:30pm. Applications and information are available online at www.cffla.ca.

“The Community Foundation will be disbursing $80,000 to L&A high school students entering university, college, or trades school thanks to the generosity of local donors who have established funds to support post-secondary education,” according to Bob Baker, Executive Director. “As of this year, the Community Foundation will have awarded nearly $900,000 in awards to students residing in Lennox & Addington.”

Awards range from $250 to $5,000. Student Award descriptions and applications can be found on the Foundation’s website.

There are twelve distinct funds that support twenty-eight individual awards. This includes the Charlotte Uens Education Award, made possible by a donation from Stuart Uens in remembrance of his mother, Charlotte, to help those students who share the Uens’ values of hard work and education by providing annual scholarships to graduates of Napanee District Secondary School. Successful applicants will receive up to $5000 in support for their post-secondary education in a university, college, or apprenticeship programs.

Additional awards include Camden East Women’s Institute Award, Goodyear Award, 100th Anniversary Social Work Award, Lloyd Seeley Family Award, Mary Jo Field Indigenous Student Award, Napanee Sports Association Award, Rotary Club of Napanee Service Above Self Student Award, Stoney Steps Artfest Stone Mills Award, Trustee Laurie French Youth Leadership Award, and Werk Poole Student Award.
