Trustee Laurie French Youth Leadership Student Award

The Trustee Laurie French Youth Leadership Award was established with the Community Foundation for Lennox & Addington in 2020 to recognize and promote Student leadership in the communities of Lennox & Addington.

Trustee Laurie French actively served six terms as a Trustee with the Limestone District School Board representing Greater Napanee, with experience as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Board for 8 years, and leadership roles at the provincial and national levels. The Trustee Laurie French Youth Leadership Student Award recognizes her lifelong commitment to student learning, development, and well-being.

The Trustee Laurie French Youth Leadership Student Award will be granted annually to a graduating high school student who is a resident of Lennox and Addington County and has been accepted into any post-secondary program and has been involved in leadership initiatives during their secondary years geared towards positive change in their community. The student will have demonstrated qualities and actions towards making improvements on behalf of their peers, including those who don’t often have a voice. Significant community ties and volunteer experience would be possible indicators of a student’s commitment to youth leadership initiatives.
