L&A Community Foundation Celebrates Charities and Students at Take if for Granted Event

The Community Foundation for Lennox & Addington presented $202,000 to local charities and students at the Take it for Granted celebration on June 9, 2026.

“This event is a celebration of the wonderful work carried out in support of charitable causes in L&A and for students pursuing post-secondary education in September,” according to Foundation Executive Director Bob Baker.

The Foundation distributed $117,000 to 29 charitable initiatives in 2026 and continue to support local projects across a broad range of community needs. In addition, another $85,000 in student awards and scholarships were awarded to 28 L&A high school students pursuing post-secondary education.

The Community Grants Program is coordinated by a team of community-based volunteer reviewers who play an integral role in assessing the grants and student awards applications. Grants for these projects come from funds established at the Community Foundation by individuals, families, and businesses, pooling these funds into an endowment, investing the money, and then distributing a portion of the income earned back to the L&A community through grants to local non-profit organizations addressing diverse community needs.

The Community Grants Program supports projects across Lennox & Addington County in the following fields of interest: Arts & Culture, Education & Lifelong Learning, Heritage Awareness for Preservation, Environmental Awareness & Engagement, Youth Support & Development, Health & Wellness, Sports & Recreation, Seniors Care & Service, and Social Services.
