Pat Garrod
For the past 43 years, Pat has lived in Lennox and Addington County with her husband Wess on a hobby farm near Yarker. Together they raised their 2 sons, Wes and Chad, who are both now married with two children each.
Pat was a secondary school teacher, guidance counsellor and consultant with the Limestone District School Board for 32 years.
For the next 7 years, Pat was the Coordinator of the Dual Credit program at St. Lawrence College’s Kingston, Brockville and Cornwall campuses. Every year this program enables more than 700 high school students to attend St. Lawrence College and earn college credits and equivalent high school credits while still enrolled in high school.
Community Involvement
Pat:
- Served on the Ontario School Counsellor’s Association Board of Directors and Executive;
- Served on Queen’s University’s Ban Righ Board of Directors, supporting mature women working towards a university education;
- Coordinated the Silent Auctions for the Limestone Learning Foundation’s Galas and other events;
- Is a founding and current member of Kingston’s Chapter of Canadians For Women in Afghanistan which raises funds to support the education of women and girls in Afghanistan;
- Coordinated “The Secret Marathon” in Kingston in March 2019
- Canvassed with the Canadian Cancer Society in L&A for more than 30 years
- Canvasses for the Heart and Stroke in L&A
- Volunteers with the Kingston Fall Fair
- Volunteers with the Yarker Market
- Sings with the Kingston-based choir “She Sings”
